 1.      Call to Order

The board meeting was called to order by Kurt at 9:00 a.m.

 3.      Approval of Board Meeting Minutes

The April 8, 2000 Board Meeting minutes were approved by a motion from Mike H., a second by Randy, and a vote from the board.

 4.      Treasurer’s Report

·        See attachments (Treasurer’s Report, Itemized Categories Report, and Transaction Report).

·        Randy pointed out an increase in 2000 WPS Education Meeting expenses from previous years.  WPS incurred approximately a $9700.00 fee with the two primary costs being the guest speaker and the catering bill at approximately $3000.00 and $3300.00 respectively.  In the past, the Education Meeting typically cost approximately $2500.00 per year.  Randy recommends a strict budget for future education meetings especially with the continued billing from Hilbert & Tenuta for licensure.  Randy will propose a budget for the next year for the board to approve.

·        Randy mentioned the possibility of eliminating some future expenses such as: transportation and hotel money given to student speakers, honorariums for speakers such as Joan Lloyd, and research money given to Milwaukee School of Engineering students.

·        Randy proposed that WPS not to submit any money towards research for the following fiscal year.  The proposal was passed with a motion from Mike H., a second from Terry, and a vote from the board.

·        It was noted that the WPS Golf Outing at Trappers Turn Golf Club will be profitable and would be a good fund raising tool in the future.

·        It was noted that the WEB page cost is $27 per month, and that it has been paid through November 2000.  Terry mails approximately 35 copies of the newsletter with the only expense being postage.
