Next year we will be
celebrating our tenth educational meeting. The
first WPS meeting was held on April 30-May 1, 1994 at the William S.
Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Forty-five
perfusionist where in attendance along with 15 vendors and several local
physicians. The co-program
directors (David Hellenbrand and Ronald Nichols) set forth the following
purpose for the meeting:
The
Wisconsin Perfusion Society is holding the meeting to create a site for
continuing education and to provide the opportunity for perfusionists to
present materials that are germane to the profession.
This initial meeting will also concern itself with the formal
establishment of the society.
Ten years have passed
and we have achieved much as a society.
It is my hope that we can return to our original goals set forth
in 1994. I am currently
looking for speakers and moderators for the spring meeting.
Ideally, I would like to see speakers from many different
programs throughout the state. If
you would be interested in speaking on a topic or presenting an
interesting case report please contact me.
